I don't usually wear a tux to a gig...
...but when I do, I'm playing in a big band. Stay thirsty my friends.

The one time I had to, I sweat through my shirt during the FITTING! You can imagine how the gig went

I wore my tux yesterday, as I performed with people from the Eatonton, Georgia area (home of Joel Chandler Harris of Uncle Remus and Brer Rabbit fame). Folks from several churches got together at the Plaza Arts Center for a pair of combined Christmas concerts, complete with nearly 70 in the choir, 20 in a handbell choir, a children's choir, and a 25-piece orchestra. I got to conduct half the concerts, play bass handbells, sing, and play recorder on one of the children's pieces. Great fun!

At least 90% of gigs. Lugging it around at the dry cleaning expense gets old.

Probably no more than a dozen times in my life - only twice for a non-classical gig...

Never worn a tux in my life, played a few gigs in a suit and a few in shirt and tie, but most of my shows have been folk or rock gigs.
I take anti-establishment too far. |
