Default New Song. "One Sweet Day". Guild D-25...

Here's a new song that came into my head at the weekend and I recorded this rough and ready video clip on Tuesday morning.

It is called, "One Sweet Day".

I hope it might appeal to some of you. Best wishes to all...

Sweet, sweet, sweet!
Very honest...authentic... rootsy and fresh...
Takes me back to my youth and growing up in the 60's folk movement!

Default wow.

Wow!!...good song...and holy cow what a voice. Great job. Not sure if you're looking for any suggestions but hey, i'm a songwriter so I can't help it. The only thing I'd change on the song is...I'd get the word "day" out of the first verse....since it's used in the chorus and as part of the hook...I think from a craft standpoint that would make it stronger...but...either way it's a good song. Merry Christmas...Jeff...aka $ongWriter.

...thank you, $ongWriter. Very good point you made - and one I will dwell on.

Yes, I'm always very open to ideas and comments, so thank you for thinking about the song and making a (really valid) suggestion.

My songs usually evolve a bit, once I start playing them; a word here, a chord there, even adding a bridge or maybe losing a chorus. I'll see how this one develops as I start to play it around.

Thanks again, Jeff. Season's Greetings to you...

Jack,

Very nice, heart warming & played so lovely. It made me wanton for my ol' '75 Guild D25 jus' like yours. What a beautifully understated model and wonderful songwriters companion.

I wrote, performed, recorded, & travelled with mine for many years & my last of 3 trips to S.America did 'er in from the plane ride back. She now resides with my son, still playable, but needs repairs.

In recent years after owning Lowdens, Avalon, & Custom Goodall, all very nice, my ears & heart harkened back to my ol' D25. So I ended up with a D18 to fill the void since those ol' D25' s are hard to find in good shape, plus I needed it for gigging.

Anyway, sorry I digress but your song and guitar just sent me back in time to some good days and I'm so happy you shared this.

Thank you Jack for makin' my heart smile today, that's what music is for, mission accomplished!

eric

Thank you, LarryVe; very kind of you to say. Thanks.

...and noledog, I'm glad to have been able to reawaken some good memories for you of your old '75 '25. Good to know that it is still in the family! Best wishes...
