Default But I Digress on a Flammang L-40

A live video shot in 2014 when I was backing my good friend, Mark Newman. I'm playing my 2004 Flammang L-40, in open D, performing my composition '...but I digress'. It's good to play solo, so that when you hit a clam, you can back up & try it again.

Enjoy!

Very nice playing Howard, thanks for sharing that.

I too am a BIG David Flammang fan, he's one of the best values in existence as far as I am concerned. I played one of his 00 "Gibsons" and it was so vastly beyond any of the Santa Cruz 1929 examples of "vintage Gibson" I have played (and owned) that it wasn't even close and you can probably get him to make you one to your specs for about the price of a SC 1929-00.

Again, great playing!

Glad you enjoyed it, and actually I meant to post it in the Show & Tell......

I had David make the guitar very shallow. It's 3 & 7/8" at the end block, so it's very comfortable under my arm. I sent him a pattern of my 1930 Gibson L-5 neck, so it's huge....so much so that 3 people offered to buy the guitar from David, if I declined it, but they all wanted a new neck.

Wimps.

Wow, that sounded terrific, Howard! I know that song well from your last album!

I did see where you went back and re-did a little piece of the song -- you did it so smoothly, if a person weren't alert and didn't know the song as well as I do, they might not realize it even happened! Very well done!

Hi Glenn,
It happens anytime I play, be it at home, in the studio, or live, and I stopped worrying about it long ago.

I have neurological & psychological issues that I just roll with. I was never a hot lead guitarist, but when I learned how to fingerpick it opened up a vast new world that allowed my musicality to be expressed more broadly.

Thankfully Protools facilitates seamless editing!
