Default Flamenco making video

Dear friends,

We just ran across this fabulous video on flamenco guitar building in Greece and really wanted to share it with our friends:

My take:

IMO, that is not Flamenco playing, but "classical" noodling. Somewhat in 6/8 (but practically unrecognizable); incoherent and disjointed arpeggio and picado with very little discernable compas. No falsetas with melodic themes; even short ones, like the truly great flamenco guitarists. No compas in the traditional sense.....

In short, musically conceited meanderings, sounding like someone who's never accompanied a singer or dancer, but who has had quite a few classical guitar lessons.....

Well, ok, just maybe... flamenco styling for elevators.....

But, hey, I'm just being me.....:-)

BuleriaChk@
i dont think that the purpose of the video was to advertise flamenco..its more like a artistic video showing the luthier working
here some flamenco playing from Lazarides guitars

I just purchased the documentary, "El Guitarrero" (http://www.foroflamenco.com/elguitarrero/)From Simon Shearston of the Foroflamenco forum.

In this documentary, they follow luthier Anders Eliasson as he constructs a flamenco guitar (start to finish). Decent production value... and Anders provides interesting insights and tips here and there. A lot of the video is just watching Anders work, but it's still an engaging video. I would recommend it to you if this sort of thing is your cup of tea.
