But also an ebony board would be less headache for you: if you choose a maple board, you will have to finish it with something to preserve the clean "white" color, or watch it turn grey over time with finger grime.
Although...I understand the aesthetic pull. Thinking of doing one myself!

Thanks, the back and sides are Birdseye maple and the top is Engleman Spruce.

I'm using a Spanish cedar neck on this guitar. Neck block glue up.

Working on fingerboards today, I still can't decide between the Birdseye and the ebony. I guess I'll make both and decide last minute.
