Beautiful. I had an OM-42 and sold it cuz I didn't think it was right for me (think I actually had remorse over the price tag). Might have to find another one though--they're just too cool. And pretty.
Enjoy it.

Awesome... Congrats! Sound clips are in order!

Is that a 1 3/4 nut? It looks narrower, but maybe it's the angle. She's a beauty!

Congrats, big 42/45 fan here.

A 35+ year old OM-42 should be a true lap piano, enjoy that classic Martin........

Thanks for all the kind replies. I am having a lot of fun with this one. In one of Chris Martin's videos he discusses the Custom Shop and how it began. He mentions that to promote the new Custom Shop, he and Dick Boak designed a 000-42 with black binding to showcase in the adds. I believe that was Custom #3. My guitar is Custom #11 and in the spec sheets it says, "like custom 03" for several items. The spec sheet also shows that this custom was a 1833 Shop Custom Sample and delivered to their Store. The salesman is db. I wonder if that is Dick Boak? None of this really matters but I find things like this interesting. It's fun to have a little background on our guitars when we become their guardians.

It's OK. We don't need specs. That beautiful thing speaks for itself......

Scalloped bracing, small maple bridge plate, black binding, AAAV spruce top and very dark/black Indian Rosewood back and sides to go with the black binding. I am very happy with this one. More details to follow. I spent an hour writing up the specs and interesting things I found out about this guitar and it all dumped when I had to re-log on to the AGF to post. Arrrrgh!

...and pretty is as pretty does! Bet it sounds wonderful, like you could surf on top of the harmonics.

Very nice! You are definitely sitting *pretty* with that piece. You have some others in your stable that aren't hard to look at either. Congrats!
