Default Stephen Kinnaird - 2017 Shop Work (BC Sitka/Amazon RW OM)

A new year and a new thread for Kinnaird Guitars - West. Here in East Texas we have a lot of exciting builds coming up this year including (at least) builds for four AGF members. Please check in from time to time to see what we're up to. I will keep this first post updated as an index page, so you can quickly jump to any of our in-progress or completed instruments. Also, if you would like to see where we have just come from please check out our previous shop thread: S. Kinnaird 2016.

Here's a projected list of some of our projects:

BC Sitka/Quilted Maple OM (build pics start here and Final Pics)
Lefty BC Sitka/Amazon RW OM (build pics start here and Final Pics)
Lutz/SE Asian RW OM (Tom's thread Chapter 1 and Chapter 2)
Sitka/Spanish Cedar OO
Italian/Madrose OM (cigarfan's thread)
Sitka/Red Eucalyptus OM - AGF Voted! (Boss Away thread)
Colorado Blue Spruce/Indonesian RW OO
Spanish Cedar 14f OO
White Oak SJ
Sitka/Guatemalan RW SJ
Carpathian/Madrose OM

...and some other fun things to cook up.

We're going to be having lots of fun this year. Please feel free to comment and join in.

And I guess people really want to see pictures, so here we go. We're trying to finish up this beautiful BC Sitka/Quilted Maple OM this week so we can send it to upstate New York in the dead of winter. It's bound in Snakewood with an arm bevel, soundport, and a ball and lozenge rosette. Hope you enjoy.

John, here's some on the bench shots. When we finish it, I'll try to get some nicer completed shots.

Thats wild. Its hard to beat a maple guitar for glamorous looks and especially hard to beat that one. Very nice work.

Indeed. In the swimsuit competition, quilted maple always score top marks.
What people don't realize is that it holds up well in the talent part of the competition as well. Just a fine material.

Thanks for the kind words,

Steve

. You are right. The best sounding guitar I took to Santa Barbara was a maple guitar. Good stuff and under appreciated for its tonal properties.
