409 Beach Boys (My first concert, 13 years old on the Kokomo Tour. They actually had a '64 Impala SS that "drove" out onto the stage and revved the engine).

LA Woman by The Doors. Was 19 years old, driving west on rt. 2 across the Thomas Edison bridge over Sandusky Bay when it came on. Feeling the music, I put the hammer down. Got pulled over for 80 in a 55 zone. Cop asked me why I was driving so fast and I said LA Woman had come on and I just felt inspired. He was cool, let me off with a warning. Also hadn't had a ticket at that point, and was respectful so that might have helped.

I might have to write all of these down and prepare a "car" set.

Do a three set night as a "Planes, Trains & Automobiles" theme.

Ol' 55, but not the Eagles version. That one is okay, but Tom Waits' original version was REALLY good.

LOL - that one reminds me of the age-old question about a lot of car songs: were they really talking about cars?

Some of these songs - really a stretch to call them car songs.
