Default And one more for the show.

"West Coast" Chocolate Mango back and sides to be topped with cedar.
The mango tapped out like the proverbial piece of wet cardboard so to stiffen things up I used this lattice bracing pattern with rosewood caps. It made a dramatic difference. The back now rings like the proverbial bell. Occasionally things fall right.

The fingerboard extension will float so carbon fiber rods are there to stiffen up that neck joining area and free up that part of the top in the upper bout from support duties.

No need to justify the carbon rods, lot of the cool kids are using them.

Default Another show box

The top is on the chocolate mango/cedar west coast. I'm open for suggestions on binding. Right now I am leaning toward brazilian rw.

Default The Back of the mango guitar

Something a little different. Shying away from cubism with a cameo. Just for fun

Smile Bevels

Hey all. My pal and Tech (lucky me) Tim Luranc, former Head Luthier of R.Taylor,
commented repeatedly about the boss structural goodness of John's BIG bevels on my new custom BOMB. Tim said the engineering was brilliant.

John has been reluctant to make the bevels as BIG as I want, but I must say I hear absolutely no loss of tone or VOLUME on the BOMB!!!

The next one will have an even bigger back bevel in my ongoing quest to save my sternum from self inflicted damage. Maybe if I played standing, it would not be such an issue. But sitting with the harp rack and my feet going is rather less comfy than I would prefer!

Thanks John! You RAWK

Cheers

Paul

Those little cameo ideas are a nice touch John. I bet this wood comes alive under finish. i can see some variation in the wood which should be pretty when it is done.

Please put me down for a fan of the inlay as well, it looks really good and the fact that it is just a cool piece of wood is even more to my liking.

I appreciate that Travis. It was a bit of a risk but I thought worth it. Really good to hear some consensual validation.

I have issues with seeing animals in wood grain, just ask Steve if you don't believe me, but I don't see the fish head, just too pretty I guess.
