Default Why so high?

So my girlfriend knew I needed a new guitar due to my Epiphone's neck being warped. I guess she saw my internet history because she surprised me with a Yamaha Fg700s. Which was awesome the exact guitar I wanted. When I got it I was impressed it looks amazing the pictures of this guitar online do not give this guitar justice. This guitar sounds awesome too nice and warm great sounding and looking guitar what more can you ask for!?!? Well heres my question the action on this guitar when I got it was very high I checked the neck first it was straight no adjustment needed the nut seems good. I was surprised to see when I took the strings off to check out the saddle the saddle was all ready very low. Much lower then my Epiphone was and the Ep had perfect action. I've sounded it down some still not where it needs to be. Its very low now pretty close to the bridge. Anyone ever experience this with the Yamaha or got any ideas? Thanks

Sorry, I misread, If the Nut, Neck, and saddle are good then I surely don't know why the action is high.

Well, decent action on a new guitar, for one thing.

Depending on where this was purchased, request that it be setup.

Sounds like an improper neck-angle.

Send it back to the store, and get another one.

Bad neck angle. Return it for a replacement

I have actually seen several Yamahas lately that had bad neck angle right from the factory. Not sure why they are like this but they are. one trick is site down the neck looking from the nut end. try looking at it so all the frets look in line or as close as possible you should be looking at the top of the bridge. If you are seeing a decent amount of bridge exposed it is a bad neck angle.
