Help me out to choose my guitar
I've been researching and playing different guitars in a past month for my finger style guitar, and I came up with my favorate guitar list so far. I'm learning finger style guitar and I would definately like somthing warm and bassy sound.
The order is according to the price Martin 00018 - 2300(UK Pounds) Furch G23CRC - 1700 Eastman E20om - 1400 Guild M20 - 1300 Eastman E10om - 1200 Guild M120 - 600 And....I wish I can have all of them.... but I can have only one for now. In terms of the price, Martin and Furch are a little bit over my budget but could be still an option. Eastmans and Guild M20 are my budget range. I'm very impressed with Guild M120 when I tried it. It was best Mahogany sounds from the ones i tried including Martin 00015, but I'm just a little hesitant with shiny gloss finish. Okay, my dear guitar masters, learners, sellers, buyers, ect. If you can choose one for me, what would you choose for me? Last edited by timo31; 11-24-2017 at 05:39 PM. Reason: Feedback from comment |

The option "I don't know because I am not you" was not available. Had it been, I would have selected it. Seriously.

Although we are not your ears or fingers, info on what/how you like to play would have been crucial for people to be able to assist.

Suprised you havent considered the furch OM32SM if you like the martin 000-18. About the same price as the eastman E20. Very comparable to a martin om18v. High quality build, great sitka/hog tone, cant go wrong.

I voted Furch cause I like a modern sound. If it wasnt on there Id have voted 000-18, what a great traditional sound. "If you dont own a Martin youll always wish you did".

Furch.
I been playing finger style for a few years and it's between that and a Taylor 414ce-R unless I find the 514 (cedar) is worth the $$

I greatly prefer gloss because it is easier to repair, I've found satin finishes impossible to repair and invariably end up polishing them - with mixed results.
If you like the M120, go with it. Did you try any dreads? I'm a fingerpicker, and I prefer the more bass-heavy sound of dreads, but they have to be tight and responsive.

Voted for the Guild M20. The Martin 000-18 would have been my pick if you hadn't said it was a bit outside your budget. Unless your income depends on it, I'm a believer in staying within your budget when buying a guitar. The M20 is a great finger style guitar. Buy new and get one fresh from the new Guild USA factory, buy used and get one of the best value sought-after vintage acoustics.

I voted Furch because you said you like warm sound. You can't beat that sound easy. Def an awesome fingerstyle guitar.

The OM 32 SM is a killer! And more balanced than the Martin 00018 in my opinion, it can handle anything

Play them all again and tape yourself playing them. Make sure each has new strings and are in tune. Note which ones in order were the easiest to play. Then listen to your recording and pick the one you like best regarding the sound and the playability.

Not familiar with the others, but the Furch/Stonebridge and Eastmans will
have more narrow saddle spacing - something you may find limiting as your fingerstyle playing progresses.
