Default Alvarez Masterworks Classical guitars

Does anyone have any experience with these now discontinued models, specifically the MCA 70. I have seen one for sale recently that was attractively priced. These are all solid wood, spruce top with rosewood back and sides. Alvarez is not a brand I would think of for a classical guitar but their acoustic steel stringed guitars seem to be a great value.

I saw those too, but wanted a cedar top, so went with a Cordoba C10. I have an Alvarez parlor and love it.

I have the MC90 and I acquired it brand new in the early 2000s. It's a wonderful guitar (cedar on rosewood) and I own a more recent Masterworks steel-string as well.

I'm not a true classical player so I can't compare it to too many models but I thought it was a great value and I continue to you use it. Has quite a bit of wear too.

Here it is with some cheesy X-mas music:

I don't know this guitar specifically. What I CAN tell you is that I've had a handful of students who wanted something more than the cheapest Yamaha (a fine student guitar btw) , but were not yet ready to drop the big bucks on a handmade guitar. In my experience, Alvarez has always made a lot of guitar for a good price. I've always been very happy with every Alvarez I've played.
