Another JP thread. Gotta love the guy. Thank God I discovered him with the first album.

I know we're old and creaky, but any other Steve Goodman fans out there?

Enjoy!

Larry, thanks. Don't know if you ever saw him in person, but if you did you'd never forget it the rest of your life.

I think I was a Goodman fan first...I don't think you could be a JP fan and NOT like Steve...they're a set...

Prine is the best. I just bought tix for the 6/1/2018 show at Wolftrap. Also just saw him in DC a few weeks ago. Awesome memories.

Wow! That was great.

I have something in common with him. We were born in the same year. (I am about one month older than he is.) But he sounds better and plays much better.

Here's Arlo talking about Steve;

I was one of a couple hundred people who got to see them sing ''City of New Orleans'' together ar a benefit out in western Mass.

Lowrider, thanks, I've seen that clip before, and it's wonderful.

For you young-uns who may have never heard of Steve Goodman, other than that he wrote "The City of New Orleans," (no, Arlo didn't write it), he was truly an amazing performer and entertainer, and a truly legendary guitarist.

Here's a wonderful, oftentimes hilarious short doc Steve' manager put together after his passing in 1984 from leukemia. Lotsa great interviews, including hilarious stuff from John Prine.

if you like John Prine (as do I) you'll like this tiny desk concert.
