Default Gibson Five Star Custom Shop J-45

THE GUITAR HAS A NEW HOME- THANKS.

Hello. Home remodeling and expansion is requiring me to sell this guitar.

This is a beautiful guitar that is virtually unplayed. In wonderful condition and it still has the protective plastic on the pickguard and the plastic on the case lock. Please research these special models as they were a limited run only for Gibson 5 star dealers and have an incredible rosewood back. This was a limited run of guitars, limited to 50. It has a factory installed L.R. Baggs Element pickup.

Some other details. The top is adirondack spruce. The back and sides are rosewood. The top is X-braced with scalloped spruce and the top is hand sprayed with a nitrocellulose sunburst finish. Cream herringbone binding on top. Abalone soundhole rosette. The neck is solid mahogany carved into a comfortable modified "V" profile and secured with hot hide glue. Select rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl dots and a matching mother-of-pearl Gibson headstock logo. 24 3/4" scale length with a neck width of 1.725" across the nut.

All paperwork is included including original receipt and warranty card that has not been registered. This truly is a wonderful guitar. TAKE A LOOK AT THE ROSEWOOD BACK!

Thanks for viewing. I will sell the guitar for $2100 shipped/paypal or $2000 if we can arrange a cash pickup. I will travel 2 hours in any direction from Pittsburgh to facilitate a happy transaction. Also, I am happy to personally send any high-resolution pictures directly to you if you would like. I will check the site's messenging system regularly and will gladly respond if you email me directly at [email protected].

The back grain was exactly what drew me to her in the first place. I had not seen one like it.

P.S. I am about 3 hours from the Columbus area. I work in a town named St Clairsville, Ohio. I am happy to meet you halfway if you want to buy her.

Thanks so much. I appreciate the attaboy!

Also, please note I have corrected one fact about the guitar. The initial advertisement said it had an ebony fingerboard. That is incorrect, it is select rosewood. So, if anyone was on the fence because they didn't want a guitar with an ebony fingerboard and would only have rosewood...jump back into the fray.

This is a stunning guitar and a great value. Does it have more sustain, or less decay, than the hog J45s?

I'd be all over this if I could.

Unfortunately, I do not have a good reference point for that question. I've been a collector of Martin and Taylor guitars but never Gibson. So I could go into the details of mahogany versus Rosewood but I can't compare a mahogany J 45 to a Rosewood J 45. I would just be speculating.

I did do a comparison if that helps. I have a Martin OMJM in rosewood. It is clear as a bell and crisp. I compare it to a gin and tonic. This guitar is more like a well aged bourbon with a slightly sweet hint. Bigger, bolder, but still has a sweetness.

Beautiful guitar.

Hope the home remodelling is going smoothly.

I'm a contractor and I'd take that guitar in place of cash for labour performed in a heartbeat. (I've considered in passing adding "will work for guitars" on my website).

That is something I will seriously consider. We are committed to our guy throught the addition and the drying-in phase of the build but from then on out, it is open bidding.

Remember though, I live in the US. Area code 15090. Might be about 4-5 hour drive for you.
