Default Guitars in stock - February 2018

Sponsors (luthiers/builders/manufacturers), what guitars do you currently have in stock for sale or available from a dealer?

(Note: Sponsors only, please. I'll unstick this thread every month and start a new one to keep things fresh.)

Default LOOKING FOR A QUICK SALE!

Hey guys! Up for sale is this Michaud Made J-R Sitka Spruce/Malaysian Blackwood. It is truly a wonderful guitar and if I didn't have a business to run, I would be keeping it Joel's list is currently still closed with a waiting time of over 2 years and a base price of $7,500 so this is a rare opportunity to skip the queue and get a brand new Michaud!

This jumbo has the signature Michaud sound which is modern, full of clarity and balance. A jumbo generally tends to be boomy and muddy with the bass out-shadowing the trebles but Joel has managed to build an extremely balanced jumbo out of this; a thunderous bass and equally fat trebles, not to mention a huge sound.

Despite its larger lower bout, the guitar is deceptively comfortable to hold due to the Manzer Wedge. The neck carve is also very easy on the hands. Overall, this is actually one of the more comfortable guitars I've had the privilege of playing, not to mention one of the best sounding ones!

Before I continue to ramble on and lose your attention, here are some photos:

And of course, here is a video of the guitar in action. It was my first time recording/filming alone and I clearly have much room for improvement but I hope you guys enjoy it!

Specs:
Top: Sitka Spruce
Back/Sides: Malaysian Blackwood
Upper bout width: 11.6"
Lower bout width: 16.3"
Lower bout depth: 4.5 - 5.0" (Manzer Wedge)
Scale length: 25.5"
Body length: 20.3"
Nut width: 1 3/4"
Saddle width: 2 1/4"
Rosette: Malaysian Blackwood
Fretboard: Malaysian Blackwood
Binding: Malaysian Blackwood
Purfling: Maple/Ebony
Bridge, Pinless: African Blackwood

List Price: $8,000

I am looking for a QUICK SALE as I might soon run out of inventory space with the number of instruments headed my way this year, so if you are interested, why not try your luck!

Default New to the shop!

Hey folks, this is The Golden Era Guitar's latest offering - a Datlen Luthiery Single 0 in Engelmann Spruce and Ziricote b/s. John might be relatively new to the scene but his guitars sure sound like he's been building for much much longer. This particular instrument is no exception and I am extremely impressed by it.

The guitar is very loud, responsive and balanced. I think what stands out most is how large the guitar sounds (I would put it somewhere between a 00 and an OM) as well as how deep and present the bass is. It is very sweet sounding with strong mids and trebles. This Datlen is quite the perfect couch guitar with the comfort of a small guitar, without sacrificing on the tone of a larger instrument.

Sounds great played fingerstyle, but I would have to say that it is a perfect companion to a singer-songwriter when strummed and picked as an accompaniment to vocals. I believe it is the sweetness of the voice that lends itself so beautifully to such a style. That being said, I do not want to pretend that I am a great singer and therefore have recorded a fingerstyle sample below.

So first things first, photos (courtesy of Josh Isaacs Photography):

There will be a video with proper mic-ing soon, but meanwhile, here is a sound clip recorded via my Samsung S7 Edge. Sounds muddy in this amateur recording but it is in fact full of clarity in person!

Specs:
Model: 0-12
Top: Englemann Spruce
Back/Sides: Ziricote
Upper bout width: 10"
Lower bout width: 13.625"
Lower bout depth: 4.125"

Body length: 19.5"
Nut width: 1.75"
String spacing at saddle: 2.25"
Rosette: Bubinga
Fretboard: Macassar Ebony
Binding: Bubinga
Purfling: Curly Maple
Bridge: Macassar Ebony
"Manzer" body wedge: 0.375"
Finish: Nitro Lacquer

I'd really like to move this Espave guitar as I have an aversion to carrying stock in my shop, given my lack of space. That is to say I'm accepting reasonable offers, let me know if you're interested and we'll work something out!

A little more about the guitar: the Espave used for the back and sides was salvaged from areas covered in water during the creation of the Panama Canal. The back and sides are constructed in the structured method I use on all of my current guitars, and the back is hollow core. Here are a few photos of how the insides are made.
