Any acoustic guitar bundles with ONLY accessories?
Does there exist any bundles that have a bunch of good accessories without the guitar? So maybe a hard case, tuner, string winder, and capo?

I'm going to go ahead and bump this one last time. I'm probably going to get the Alvarez AF30, but seeing as that's my first guitar, I'm going to need a bunch of accessories to go with it. And I was hoping there would be at least a bundle of accessories that I could get that would save me a little money.

use the purchase of the guitar as a bargaining tool to get your accessaries as part of the deal or at least some of them and a large discount on the rest

Hm, I'm looking to buy new and probably online, so I don't know if that would work.

All that you need is the guitar/case, get the other stuff as you discover what you need. I've been playing 50 years and never used a string winder, a pick, yes.

Ya, that's true that a string winder isn't a necessity, but a capo and a tuner are in my opinion.

Have you ever considered a Yamaha guitars at all? I know Kraft Music puts together some comprehensive packages that fall right around the price of the Alvarez you were looking at. I found the Alvarez AF30 for $229 online... here are some packaged folk guitars from Kraft for around that price.
Yamaha FS650M Essential Package: $199.99 shipped http://www.kraftmusic.com/yamaha-fs6...ls-bundle.html Yamaha FS650MS Complete Package: $229.99 shipped http://www.kraftmusic.com/yamaha-fs6...ar-bundle.html Yahamha FS700S Esential Package: $224.99 shipped http://www.kraftmusic.com/yamaha-fs7...ls-bundle.html Yamaha FS700S Complete Package: $249.99 shipped http://www.kraftmusic.com/yamaha-fs7...ar-bundle.html Yamaha FS700S Tabacco Burst Esentail Package: $224.99 shipped http://www.kraftmusic.com/yamaha-fs7...ls-bundle.html Yamaha FS700S Tabacco Burst Complete Package: $249.99 shipped http://www.kraftmusic.com/yamaha-fs7...ar-bundle.html I never heard of the FS650MS model before, but I know the FS700S is a fantastic guitar. Worth a consideration at least.

The stuff you actually need: Case Strap if you going to play out Picks Tuner String winder. The case will be the most expensive. My Alvarez dealer gives a discount on the case if it isn't included. Bonus: Alvarez cases are very distinctive these days. At a jam, you'll always know which case is yours. Depending on your taste, a strap can be had very inexpensively, or you can pay big bucks. If you buy a strings in a three pack, you can sometimes get them in a box that includes a cheap winder, picks, and a coffee cup or some such. But, a planet waves winder, that has a built in cutter can be had for about $12. A capo comes down the road. You may buy one and find you use it very little. It also depends on how you use one what type. I have two of the strap type. Takes two hands to put on, most likely to scratch your guitar. But they cost me less than five bucks. I also have a pair of Kysers, a Schubb, a Dunlop Victor, and a G7th. I'm finding the G7th and the Schubb to be best, and the Kysers best for fast one handed use. Tuner: get a Snark and call it a day. If you get strings online, you can find pretty big discounts if you buy a 6, 10, or 12 pack. If you're like most people, a three pack is a years supply. If you play a lot a six or ten pack is a year supply. If you buy in bulk, it also keeps you out of the guitar store...alleviating GAS...to some degree.

Unfortunately I find the dreadnought body style very uncomfortable, and also the LL6 is like double the price of the AF30.

To me it's better to get the individual items you want/need. These combos might have a lot of things, but rarely do they have any quality. There is a lot to be said for getting the capo you want, the strap you find comfortable, the tuner you want, etc. if cost is the issue, then get them as you can afford them.
Then, you'll have what you want the first time instead of replacing the kit piece by piece. Cheaper in the long run. |
