Your photography composition & skills are top notch Mark - I believe it has been a critical factor in making this thread so enjoyable. Thank you for taking the time to share this build with us.

Thanks joeguam, The camera is an important tool and like all the tools in my studio, I try to master it.

Default Final setup

I normally make a dummy saddle for a new guitar. As the guitar settles into it's strings I can narrow down the final height and intonation before cutting the actual saddle After some careful planning I was able to cut a piece of the Oryx large enough to fashion a saddle;

Here is a picture of the saddle set in the Olivewood bridge;

Here is a close up showing the final set up with the Oryx saddle, Black buffalo horn end pins and the Black Diamond PB strings;

I'm very happy with the tone I'm getting from this combination. I'd say the strings don't have the chime that people love or hate with D'Addario PB strings, I'd say they are a little rounder sounding like D'Addario's Nickle strings. They are very comfortable to play and don't have as much of the finger noise you get from uncoated strings.
I'm set up with Charlie Chropoulos to record some sound samples next week.

OK, I said I would not keep pumping the compliments on this guitar hahaha, but how can I NOT comment on that entire bridge set up even right down to the strings. That Olive wood grain in the bridge and then the colors of the saddle and pins, jeez, you make something as basic as bridge and saddle a work of beautiful art. You may have outdone yourself on this one Mark, be careful you just don't spontaneously combust!!!

I just can't stop staring at this guitar. The amazing attention to detail, down to the black strings, Oryx, and black buffalo pins clearly makes this my favorite guitar I've ever seen. PERIOD.

I cannot wait to hear the sound samples. You must be tremendously pleased with your creation. I couldn't even imagine selling something like this, let alone having the talent to create it! A++++++++

Thank you Tom, I really struggled with the design of the bridge. I started with some pretty wild ideas and ultimately went with only a mild change that was more in line with the carving theme and not such a great departure from one of my regular bridge designs. Frankly, I reasoned the wood was so gorgeous, crazy designs would only be a distraction. I think all that black in the saddle, end pins and even the strings accents the beautiful grain of that Olivewood bridge.

Thanks ukejon!

I'm still shooting pictures of this guitar because it will be going up for sale after I get the sound samples put together. Here are some more detailed pictures of the sound port;

You know, I think you make these cool guitars as an excuse to take your pictures.

Wink

When you look up the words "Dream Guitar" in the encyclopedia, there is a picture of this guitar! OK, wait a minute. I have to update myself. No one knows what an encyclopedia is anymore, so, when you look up "Dream Guitar" on Google, this one comes up!

Thanks printer2. While I do enjoy the photography side of all this I usually say a camera is just another tool in the shop. However, the fact is, this is a tool that sells more guitars than any other tool in the shop

Thank you Steve, it certainly took some dreaming on my part to figure out how I was going to do some of the things I did with this guitar . I appreciate your comments
