Thanks for the replies! Yes, Ray has really outdone himself on these two guitars!

SteveH, It's difficult for me to compare Ray's and Jason's guitars. They really build different guitars. I love the heck out of both luthiers' builds! I can't say enough about my Kostal MD -- beautiful, artfully crafted, big and bold sound, articulate, orchestral -- well, you know since you have one. These two guitars of Ray's hit me in a different place.

Glenn, Yep, Woodstock, NY. Would love to go to the show sometime. Really fortunate, however, to be able to play these in the quiet of Ray's shop.

I took a "close-up" of the quilted bird's-eye maple, and I've include that picture. Unfortunately, it's just i-Phone quality, but at least you can see the bird's-eye pretty well.

Lucky you who are going to the Woodstock show!

Default Kraut OO -- Wow!

Bill- I'm lucky enough to be going to Woodstock, so I'll be able to see these beauties in person! I am thrilled to finally make it to one of these shows- and meet people like Ray Kraut and Jason Kostal! To bad you won't be there to say hello to, but another time.

Good golly miss Molly those are friggin' sweet guitars. I love the clean lines, the woods are unreal, and from what I read, the tone spot on...thanks for sharing!

Jealous of you, Billy. Been following these builds on FB. That Brazilian is stunning to say the least. I wish I could play it. The best decision I have ever made was buying that Kraut OM BR a while back. Most amazing guitar I will ever own I'm sure!

Those are some stunning looking OOs... something about the upper bout shape, and the way it curves into the waist... beautiful! Very jealous of those lucky folks who might be playing these this weekend at Woodstock

Thanks for posting your thoughts Billy Looks like we've both got upcoming OM builds then... cool!

I actually called Ray the very same day that this thread was posted. Not sure which one you were interested in -- but my favourite is already gone.

The maple 00 is sold...

Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder but there's something special about this one. Everything just looks right.

Those two guitars are such works of art. Just fabulous.

I really would like to own, or at least play!, that rosewood 00.

Great work, just amazing.

Don't mean to hijack this thread but just thought I'd post a recent recording of a Kraut guitar...

You nailed this one, Mau! Very nice work!

Just listened watched the video again on YouTube. To my ears I like the Kraut, but I may be bias nowadays Either way, your playing was just beautiful!

Very gorgeous guitars. I loves me some bird's eye maple. I have a fretless bass with a coated bird's eye fingerboard, top, and headstock cap.
