Mike and John! What a team... The shading is beautiful. Woods are superb.

And, it should sound even better than it looks, judging by the ones Mike and I have already got!

Congrats to you both, gentlemen!!!

Cheers

Paul
Thanks Paul. I appreciate the kind remarks. The photography is coming. I made some mistakes that I will not repeat but it's coming.

Congrats to both John and Mike.

Magnificent creation. Very well done.

All we are missing is a sound clip.

I see there has been some long awaited pics revealed while I was away...so I guess that is just proof I need to pay closer attention to the forum . Thanks to all of you who have chimed in with good words...way too many of you to thank individually but I appreciate each and every one of you.

Once again, as he has done so many times before, I think John has delivered a lovely instrument. Can't wait to get my hands on it. I think there is a bit of fine tuning that John wants to do while letting the guitar settle in a bit, and of course we're still waiting for those wonderfully ultra ssslllooowwwwwwww people at Ameritage who seem to take longer to build cases than it takes for John to build a guitar lol.

But it will all be worth it and when I get it I'll try my best to pluck a few strings for all of you to hear .

Wow, i've seen a few interesting cherry guitars, but this looks like the winner for sure!
I'm interested to know if you think cherry has a "sound" as there aren't a large number of cherry guitars out there to just pick one up draw a conclusion

(I could have picked cherry for the guitar I'm building but I had no clue about it and its sound/working properties so went with Walnut)

The guitar is spoken for, Mike bought it.
I think cherry sounds about like maple, closer to hard maple than big leaf or some of the softer maples. I would bet money that in a blind test it a person could not distinguish between the two.

John, my experience with my cherry/cedar classical is similar to what you describe. I would place cherry in between maple and mahogany in the realm of koa in terms of its influence.

Nice guitar...

Nice guitar...
Thanks Bob
There seems to be more similarity in the sounds of my guitars than the various woods used would imply. There are different nuances to be sure but there is an overall sonic theme that I am pleased with but cannot seem to avoid.

Hey brother, from where we sit, atop of Old Smoky, that looks very nice.
I am impressed that you nailed Tony's shading on your neck.
Very impressive.

Very nice, beautiful in fact. I really like the shape too how the upper bout curves past the fretboard to the cut out. That top is loud too just looking at it bright white.
