Default Circa D-42

For sale is a 2002 Circa D-42. This instrument is built with a Adirondack top, Brazilian back & sides and braced after a Martin 1933 dreadnought. I am the 2nd owner and it’s in excellent condition.
This incredible instrument is the 21st guitar built by John Slobod under Circa guitars. In an e-mail exchange John told me,

“You got an important guitar in my evolution, and a guitar that I’m very close to. It may or may not be my first 42, at any rate it is a very early example. I’m so glad the 1929 neck suits you!
By the time I started Circa, I had done final voicing, binding and neck setting on 2000 guitars while at Bourgeois”

• Adirondack top.
• Honduran Mahogany neck.
• Brazilian rosewood back and sides..
• 25.4” Scale Length. Vintage (late 1920s) feeling “1929 D" shaped neck” with 1 25/32” nut, 2 1/4” string spacing.
• Ebony board and bridge
• Un-slotted bridge pins.
• Hide Glue.
• Cedar Creek tweed case

This guitar plays and sounds wonderful with an impeccable fit and finish. This is a rare opportunity to own a masterpiece built by one of the top luthiers in the business.
The only modification is the adding of the 42-style fingerboard inlay done (with John’s blessing) by David Musselwhite.
Will be happy to answer questions to any interested party and send additional pictures. Please PM me to discuss.

Priced @ $12,500.00 (bank wire or PayPal F&F preferred) shipped/insured. Any additional fees paid by buyer to lower 48 US states only and no trades!

I will do my best!

It's not chunky like a mid 30s Martin dreadnought neck would feel like. It's more like an early 29-30 OM shaped neck. Flatter and perhaps bit similar to a low-profile modern neck.

Stunning guitar. Circa guitars (John Slobod) are only going to appreciate over time......get one while they are still somewhat affordable!
