Default Highlander Internal Mic sound quality?

How does the Highlander Internal Mic sound?

Is it on par with a DPA 4061?

I've been wanting to try a dual source with UST and a DPA 4061 for awhile. I thought ordering a Highlander IP-2 and their internal mic would be an easier install if it sounds as good as a DPA.

Any problems with that Highlander screw-in preamp-endpin if I've already got a standard-sized 1/4" endpin hole?

Highlander says it's got an onboard preamp. Does that preclude using something like a Pendulum SPS-1 plug and/or other external preamp for sound mixing and shaping?
