Default Bridge saddle for an Ovation

I have an Ovation Balladeer 1111 and have lost the bridge saddle. Do I need to get a replacement from Ovation or are they universal?

Some Ovation guitars have custom style saddles. Even these can be made by a local pro.

I had a look on Ebay and there are many 72mm long. I think mine is only about 63. I didn't know if I can file a larger one down or something?

Sure.

I use a bench grinder on a taylor saddle and then hand file to clean it up.

I like the tusq saddles.

220 taped to a small wood block will shape a saddle very quickly.
It gets easier after you ruin the first one or two.

I know some OFCers in Europe have had small parts like that shipped direct from the factory in Connecticut. Send an email to John Budny there and see what he can do.
