Cleaning a maple board and neck
Hi,
I have a Telecaster with a maple board and neck. I wash my hands before playing but after an hour or more, due to string wear and oils on my fingers, I'm wondering if it's safe to wipe down the neck and board with a clean damp cloth. This probably applies to the mahogany neck on my Taylor as well. Any Advice? Thanks.

I own a Stingray 5 with a maple neck and Ernie Ball recommends Birchwood Casey Tru-Oil and Gunstock Wax to clean the neck. I also saw a post on their message forums from an EB guitar tech who said they use Lemon Pledge....go figure.
PS. Note...my bass neck is unfinished....don't know if your Tele neck has a finish on it or not. Dr. Stringfellow has lemon oil which is good for cleaning too.
