My new binding ledge cutting tool arrived this week from Chris Ensor of Ensor Guitars and it's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen LOL! When I worked at SCGC I used a similar system and looked into having one machined for me out of aluminum. When I met Chris at the Santa Barbara show this year and he showed me this I was sold!

Those are really nice. I made myself one like it out of MDF, but it has a lot to be desired. Reluctantly I'm thinking I need to stop d$@king around and cough up the dough for one.

Epoxy treatment complete. I do this more to help stabilize the wood than as a pore filler but it does help with the finish process.

Definitely looking sharp - great close-up shot of that cutaway. Incredibly precise, but still elegant and smooth.
