I love the history of the mahogany. Very cool.

It looks deceptively thin, and I bet it's very easy to hold and play. Great design, both from an engineering and aesthetic perspective. Thanks!

I've been pondering on how to cut the face and back channels ever since I started thinking of having a continuously beveled edge. Normally I would use my binding router jig that registers against the side of the guitar to give a consistent channel. I couldn't use that with this design so I made a few jigs to test, that registered against the 45 degree bevel, but the consistency of the cut was not what I wanted. In the end I cut the channels by hand with an xacto, a chisel and a wonderful new tool I just bought, a razor file.
Your binding is only as good as your channels and these came out perfectly...and it was the first time I've enjoyed cutting channels in years!

When I was a young man I had the incredible experience of apprenticing for one of the preeminent painters of our time, Chuck Close.

We would have discussions about art that stay with me to this day. One of those discussions was on the process of making art. He would say that a painter is actually a performance artist, only no one is around for the performance. The same could be said of luthiers.
I think that's one of the reasons this forum is so entertaining and enlightening. We get to see artists in their unobserved performances!
Chuck would also say, never wait for inspiration. Get to work and you'll find inspiration in the process. Another thing I think luthiers know full well.

Well the wood is in the channels. I just don't know what to call it. Is it purfling or binding?

It's an unboxlike box

Darn... that was what I would have suggested

Anyways, it has already been said but you have a great sense of aesthetic or at least are willing to challenge the norm; you bring a breath of fresh air to the scene where would I be able to find more information about your guitars?
