Where to find stringing lines and purfings for gypsy guitar in U.K.
Hi everyone!
I am building my first Selmer style gypsy guitar, the back and sides are laminated and ready to go (I found some good advice here on that), but now I'm stuck trying to find material for the rosette. The book says use 0.6 mm thick stringing lines, but I can't find any supplier online that sells anything like that. Also I think I should get the rosette lines together with the purfings to have some of the the colours match. Can anyone help me where to find them? Thank you! |

David Dyke sells squares, but only down to 1mm.
https://luthierssupplies.co.uk/produ...nding/squares/ I presume that the 0.6mm strips could be cut from veneer? |

I don't buy much besides strings from the UK but, seems like Amazon sells some stuff you can use.

You could try here, in the UK
https://www.originalmarquetry.co.uk/.../inlays-lines/ I have bought veneers there in the past. |

0.6mm is the standard thickness of commercial veneers, so you could buy a sheet and just cut off strips. For single sheets eBay is probably your best bet, and an A4 size sheet should give you long enough strips.
