Hate to say, a 1993 Gibson Gospel, bought new from Montana shop.
My luthier, renowned, said "I can't get the socks out of the soundhole" Disappointing when this happens. |

I had a 1937 Martin D-45 that was a real dog, a piece of garbage. I traded it for a really nice 1982 Sigma dreadnaught.

1973 Martin D-35. Sounded great but Martin's quality was spotty for a few years running and my guitar's neck was uncured (greenwood) and kept warping. I gave it away after two visits to Martin for warranty repair. Martin had it longer than I did. I turned around and bought a Guild F-412 and thought to myself at the time that Guild was either underrated or Martin was overrated. I was 18 at the time, inexperienced, yet called it like it was.

I've never owned a bad guitar, but I have owned two that just were not right for me.

Worst guitar was an Ovation... I could never get the hang of holding it with the rounded back... it always slipped away from me, impossible to play (for me). It may have sounded ok, but I never got that far with it.

It was a Conn.
You know Conn ... they make trumpets.

No-name guitar I picked up in a flea market for $17 when I was a student. Once I started seriously learning as a working adult it only took me a month to realize what a mistake it was and get something better. Of course by then I could afford something better.

Well, the last 'worst guitar' thread was nuked pretty quickly. Just wanted to get in on the futility.

The worst ... a Russian classical guitar I bought in the early 1980's... it was terrible, the wood would give you splinters all over your hands, the finish was irregular, the frets would bruise your fretting hand.... oh boy that thing never held tune.
Second to that was my 1969 Sears silvertone .... my first guitar. We bought it in 1969, it was handed down to me in 1975. Not as bad as that Russian guitar, but surely not that good either.

while in quality I'd say the larrivee was great the OM-R
however in sound it was one of the weaker guitars I have ever owned. It was like playing in total neutrality. I sold it and picked up an Eastman OM after that and it was night and day. Eventually when I could afford, I picked up various Martins and the vintage 00-17 being the best guitar I have ever touched |

As for worst, it has to be EKO Ranger, I must have totaly lost my marbles buying that. I like to think it had some redeeming qualities but I car'nt think of any. Perhaps it burned well, I did'nt try that |
