This is good information, as I have 4 TDs...2 40s and 2 45s, and was thinking of ordering a TP1R for the exact reason you specified. I find the TP and TAD both too big and awkward. Thinking 1 rounded edge though might make the overall size of the pick more tolerable.

For me, it's a TPR-50 for the mandolin, and TD-35 for guitar (acoustic and electric).

I just ordered my first Blue Chip last week and decided to go with the TP1R-50. I figured that since this is my first one it would be nice to get the one rounded tip so that I could evaluate which I like better - it's really like two picks in one. I have to say that so far I like the standard, non-rounded tip more. The rounded tip produces a sound that is a little dull for my tastes. Still, I'm glad that I gave it a try.

Each of my four dreads and my Jumbo has a TAD-50, and a Wegen TF140.
Each of my smaller bodied guitars has a TAD40 and a Wegen TF120. My Martin D12-20 has a TAD-60 but it is to sweet so I prefer a Wegen TF140. TAD 50s 3r for mando. A BC pick costs about the same as a three pack of Elixir strings. The strings will last, maybe none months....a year? The BCs will last a life time. However, since I've learned how to bevel and polish picks I'm enjoying the soud of Tortex 1.14s properly finished and D'Andrea 1.5 m/m Pro plecs. All 346 style: three tips, more to grip, bargain.
