Default Saturday Night Rub (Big Bill Broonzy)

Hi guys,

here's my latest recording. Big Bill Broonzy's Saturday Night Rub on a Gibson J-45. From an arrangement by Woody Mann.

I hope you like it.

Very nicely done, Doug! Love it when the notes seemingly move on their own.

Very nice job, Doug. You're making good use of that Woody Mann book. Keep it up.

Hi Doug,

Wow, that is very well done! The song seems to have a ragtime flavor to my ears. Very good job on that; nice playing, smooth transitions, good tone from the J-45.

Hi Doug,

I liked it. Reminded me of a calliope playing on a carousel or merry-go- round, what we used to call call the flying horses. Very nice!

I really enjoyed that J-Doug, great work.

I always struggle to come up with an instrumental tune to play and that is exactly the kind of thing I would like to learn.

I have to ask, did you learn this by ear, or from a songbook?

Thank you! I learned it from Woody Mann's Dvd and book combo "The Art of Acoustic Blues Guitar - The Basics."

Really enjoyed it, Doug...I love the tone you get out of your guitars...and I love this whole genre of music you do...I don't play it...don't know if it would be too hard for me (plus, I like to sing and play) but I love listening to it, and you really execute the vibe and feel of it just great.
