Default "Shenandoah"

Hello everyone,

I haven't posted in "Show and Tell" in a fairly long time and wanted to share my latest arrangement with you.

"Shenandoah" has been covered by the extraordinary Tony Rice (among many others) -- however my favourite version remains Stuart Ryan's (by a wide margin).

Here's my modest rendition which I based on Sissel's version.

As always, thank you for listening.

Hi Joe,

In another part of the internet a questions was posed - If you could play one song what would it be? Now I went for Jerry's breakdown (with Chet), but I was delighted to see someone picked your AN CIARRAÍOCH MALLAITHE.

I can see why, you are a delightful player, and you latest track is right up there with the best of them. Lovely!

Flipping fantastic. Emotive. Feel like I'm staring across, and I can smell the wind. Sorry to be corny, but that was just great.

Hey Mau,

Very expressive, I liked the slow build and increasing complexity, it drew me in............well done my friend...

Hi David,

I'm not sure who picked my version of "An Ciarraioch Mallaithe" but I'd surely tell him/her that he/she should be more ambitious...

Thank you for your supportive words -- really means a lot.

Thank you, Sal.

Corny is fine by me... On slow and simple pieces like this one, it can be a real challenge to come up with something that's emotionally interesting. I'm glad you enjoyed my version.
