Default Question re: Washburn C80S

Hi All:

I picked up a Washburn C80S classical guitar from Craiglist recently. The sticker on the inside of guitar identifies it so - along with the Serial Number #S11054279. I was told it was purchased from another gentlemen who was the previous and first owner. So should have only been owned by two others before me.

I was just curious - is there anyway I can find out if i received an actual Washburn Guitar - or if this is a knockoff of some sorts, etc.? I mean it wasn't expensive. Looks like the C80S in pretty much all respects, except that there is no "Washburn" logo on the headstock. It seems like the pictures of all the ones I see online have the logo on it. While, I know such alone does not make it "not authentic", I am more curious than anything else.

I mean either way, I'd still keep it - as it sounds pretty nice for the price i paid for it. Just curious if anyone could shed some light on this. Thanks!

- Jerry

Hi,

I have seen Washburn C80S with and without headstock logos. I think the headstock logos have been added in the last couple of years (not sure on that, but older ones seam not to have the logo, where new advertisements shown them with logo).

Here is a used one that does not have the logo..

I wouldn't worry about it and enjoy your new-to-you Washburn ! I thoroughly enjoy the Washburn I picked up used and think it an outstanding guitar!

I have had the same guitar, Washburn C-80S for a number of years (4 or 5) and it does have the logo on the headstock. I do believe that in the past they didn't.

I am very happy with this guitar for the price. Solid cedar top for a very good price and the intonation is very good. Have fun with yours, and congrats.
