After watching this I'm feeling like my guitar playing is sort of equivalent to just playing "Chopsticks" on piano.

(and the string vibrations are cool - I'm supposing this is a consequence of the frame rate of the video or something?)

If you're refering to the bass strings, that is called "stroboscopic effect", like when you see videos of cars where the wheels appear to be turning backwards. Good description of it here:

In the right light you can see this effect yourself while you are playing. I have in this chair I am sitting in right now at my computer, when it was dark and the light from my tv was the only light in the room... (I think, hard to remember...)

Perhaps Daryl is referring to the player's showmanship, especially the rather flamboyant extraneous movements of his right hand.

its the strings. at first, they are not as noticable, around 1 minute i was canting my head sideways. its neat, and i was thinking its some sort of video imagery technique.

he appears to be on a salt flat, possible the sun and reflective ability of the land enhances such an appearance???

thought he played in an interesting way.
