Never heard of this guy, my friend just pointed me to this video today.

What amazing playing and discussion, so much to absorb. I am going to have to check out his other videos.

His book, "Chord Chemistry" is still AFAIK the bible relating to the structure, use and fingering of guitar chords. A must have for serious or semi-serious guitarists.

also check out http://www.tedgreene.com

run by his long time girlfriend. Tons of free educational material. Tons.

big +1 on chord chemistry, as well as his single note jazz line books (no tablature, just as a warning)

also, please boycott any torrent sites or other local internet a--holes who give away these books for free.

oh, and get his CD too--solo guitar. One of the few solo jazz albums you can listen to that is amazingly impressive, yet never treads into "look what I can do" waters.

I have it and love that book. Lots of knowledge and a great way to share it.

Thanks for re-introducing me to Ted, Anton. I've heard him before, having been exposed to this wonderful rendition of Autumn Leeves:

A remarkable guitar player, indeed.

thanks for the links. I'd never heard of him or Lenny Breau until this month and have enjoyed watching the videos of them both.

Ted Greene was a monster. I still consider "Chord Chemistry" the "bible"
I bought (and still have) one of the early editions from back in the day. It was very intimidating at the time, but if you go through the book and follow Ted's advice, it will not be as difficult as you might think.

If you havent heard his "Solo Guitar" album, you need to. What mr.beaumont said is true, and it is simply a beautiful collection.

I just finished reading (okay a while ago) the book/diary/memoir of his long time compainion Barbara. Interesting read. (My Life with The Chord Chemist)

The website she maintains is indictitive of Ted's life as a teacher. He would be very proud that she continues to share his knowledge.
