Default For the guitarist you thought had it all

Check out these electrics on this site. Background stories are fictitious but entertaining, but all are functional guitars. Rick Springfield tours with one. That may be a deal breaker for some I know, but awesome looking IMO. He also does a nation wide comic strip.

They're interesting. If I were that into the whole Steampunk thing, I'd probably just get it as a graphic. Seems like they might be a literal pain to play.

Hadn't thought of it before, but I think you hit the nail on the head classifying it as "Steam Punk." Not a fan of that post appocolyptic industrial look on most things (like it on Motor cycles, blocking on the name of the Austrailian vs English dude who builds bare bones/minimalist industrial looking bikes), but these really caught my eye. Don't like the tone of Rics but did like the tone of the Kamakasi edition. Ric's sound tinny by comparison. Might have to get used to finding your way around some of the hardware added on to these things, for sure.

John

I'd love to be able to choose one for myself! They are quite clever in design!

Looks like something right out of the Mad Max movies. They're cool looking for sure.

I'm the kind of guy who doesn't get out much, so I had to ask what Steam Punk was.

I don't get out much more than you, so I am far from qualified to answer. but that rarely stops me ... It's an aesthetic and artistic movement where industrial left overs are repurposed in their raw form for art and function as it might be after the appocolypse . Others more in the know, please correct me.

Do you mean Ed Bond (Halcyon guitars)? I just checked his website and didn't see any electrics.

The featured Explorer-style and Firebird-esque guitar farther down look amazing.

The guy has a good eye for industrial art. Very cool. But I hate to think that Rick Springfield and I would agree on something like that.
