A friends 1962 Martin D-28, unbelievably balanced, a pleasure to play. Felt like it brought out my very best playing. I've owned two D-28's and sold them both. This one is really special, must have some good mojo.

For me it has to be a lovely Martin EC Crossroads beautiful tone and playability. I played it for a while when I bought my Martin . I really wanted to see what difference the ££££ made . Ok it was truly wonderful but it would never have left the house and I would have been frightened to even breath on it , it's bad enough with my Jeff Tweedy but that would have been a worry lol .

Electric wise it has to be my Burns Marvin Custom Shop , never gets played now but it's in store for our Grandson

True, it's not. Just happened to come across it at the store in the photo. So much bass. Never played anything like it. In saying that I haven't played all that many guitars.

I haven't played as many guitars as some of you, and I also don't think I've played anything besides your basic run of the mill mass-produced American guitars that hang on the walls at most guitar stores.

One exception to the new guitar in the store pattern was my friend's 1953 D-18 that he got from his grandfather. If I didn't know better I could have sworn it was a brand-new guitar; that's what kind of condition it was in.

Otherwise, I remember really liking all the standard Martin models and the new Taylor models, too. The Gibson J-45 was pretty nice, too.

Reading my post, I realized that I probably have contributed absolutely nothing to this conversation. Oh well--that's what the internet is for, I suppose.

1936 LG-0. Definitely played slicker easier instruments but this was a piece of history. Plus it was during a visit to NYC at Matt Umanov's and the lady in the shop told me to play it because she liked what I was doing and knew I was never going to buy it.

A few years ago there were a couple that stood out in my mind, a Martin D-35 and there was a used Taylor 800 series which put tears in my eyes when I had to put it back, lol.

I have picked up and played only guitars from $100 to about $3,800 and there's been more than a few that I wanted to take home.

If I ever played a Ryan, for instance, I'd probably be ruined mentally for life,

Just to add to my earlier post, I think I've learned to appreciate those great mass-produced Taylors, Martins, and Gibsons, but I don't think I could tell enough of a difference between them and the high-end boutique stuff to justify the price difference. But that's just me. I did buy a Martin D-18 from a mom and pop store that I really liked. I'm sure I like it as much or more as any other guitar I've played.

I haven't played that many different guitars. So in my limited experience it would be my 2016 Martin OM-28VTS

^ call me ruined then. My previous post was partly a consolation as I have played many McKnights that haunt me whereas I know that my Larrivee is familiar enough to me that I can play it with reckless abandon. To its credit, it does almost all that I ask of it.
