Default D’Addario ej26...what a surprise!!!!

The Luther put this strings (D’Addario ej26 custom 011) on my guitar Sigma Dm 1-st 1991 to have less tension on the neck! When he told me that put a 011 set I was disappointed....i use D’Addario ej16 on it!!
But when I try the guitar.....whowww amazing sound, for me very very similar to the ej16 but much easy to play. The Ej26 is a custom 011 set with the bass strings very similar to the ej16 (032 042 052)

Someone use this set?

Ps
Sorry for my bad English

Your English is fine. I could understand everything perfectly. Glad to hear of your success with a new string gauge, by my favorite string manufacture.

They are very good too.

Why do you recommend these over the ej26? How do the two compare?

I have the ej26 on my Sigma OM21 and I think they are just too much out there, not too bright, but just front and center. I don't know; too rock and roll.

I'd like to calm it down some.

I have been using the D'Addario 11-52 set since I first discovered it many years ago.
12-52 sets were too heavy for my gentlr picking and 10-47 a little too shy on the bass side. When I discovered the 11-52 set I jumped on it and never looked back!
I find them perfect for all occasions, be it fingerstyle with bare fingers, using fingerpick or a pick. A perfect balance of tone and feel.

I’ve gone back to 11-52’s, in most of my guitars.
Only use 12-53’s on the two with shorter scales.
I generally use D’addario EJ26’s and EJ16’s.
I went back to the lighter gauges after reading an interview with KWS and he said he gets as good a sound out if 11’s as 13’s with less energy expended.
And I’m all about PLAYING guitar not WORKING guitar.

Edit: lately I’ve been experimenting some.
A lot has to do with curiosity. Some due to price.
Some because, I can’t remember what made me switch.

I always had 12's on my guitars for more than a decade- then I noticed 11's sounded a bit nicer.
Now I use 10's on everything- I adore them, never going back to fat strings.

Better sustain and full sound with a touch less bass- but more glorious mids...less tension on necks...maybe a bit easier to play.

I have them on a custom made rosewood jumbo.

It's a very loud and responsive guitar but slightly unbalanced with 12's.
I liked the tone and power of the Nickel Bronze and when I tried dropping down to 11-52's I found the balance I was looking for.
They also last longer than PB's.

You might find them a little too much, maybe try Martin Retro Monels on your Sigma?

Wow, Wow, I put these on my Road Series GPCRSG. I had been disappointed since I put on DR Sunbeams and then Rare's. But the ej26's gave it back it's bark and it's bight!!

It now gives me the deep bass and the sparkle. After playing it for 2 hours today, I took out the Sigma with the ej26's and I loved that one too. I guess these are my go to strings for the near future!
