The new braces are torrified, and they are using hide glue.

Actually I mailed myself a picture of the bracing pattern certified mail in 1994. It is of course sealed, otherwise I would post a picture. Andy will pay, oh he will pay.

To everyone complaining about all of the V bracing threads:

I’m surprised there aren’t more threads.....I mean, this is the most innovative design change since the bolt on neck. Bob said so himself!

The Gibson MK series in the mid 70’s had similar but different type of V bracing. While the Gibson’s bracing is fundamentally different I think that it is interesting that they made similar claims as to what the bracing could do to the sound and they also introduced it as revolutionary. Here is a Facebook page I found if anyone is interested.

But what's really cool here on AGF is that the Dutch design gives many AGFers a continuing resolution to bash Taylor! Somebody reel this old boy in!

Can something like a bracing pattern variation really be called an "invention"?
Browsing through google images I came across various similar patterns which
go a number of years back.

I don’t really see the issue of discussing that Andy and Bob didn’t come up with this out of thin air?!

And carbon fiber just took the backseat to the apparently even more controversial Taylor V-Class bracing system??

Man I love this place!

From the PR @https://www.taylorguitars.com/guitar...-bracing/story (bold italics mine)...

"Why hasn’t anyone thought of V-Class bracing before?

This may be an impossible question to answer, since we can’t know why someone didn’t think of something. But in reflecting on how he conceived of the V-Class design, Andy credits the treasure trove of books and other information resources provided by builders, guitar repair technicians, writers, players and others who have shared their many discoveries about acoustic sound, woodworking, and instrument making over several centuries. Andy’s natural passion and curiosity led him to consume as many of these resources as he could find, which certainly helped inform his thinking about guitar design and synthesize these ideas into something new. His experiences and musical needs as a pro-level player also influenced his thinking. Andy also credits the innovative manufacturing culture of Taylor Guitars, which has provided a supportive environment and tooling resources for ongoing design improvements. Taylor’s production capability also has enabled guitars to be built with incredible precision and on a large scale. This has allowed Andy to explore the outer frontiers of guitar design, push the proverbial envelope, and discover the limitations of existing materials and methods."

Yes it can. Like I said, the patent world is a crazy world. Believe it or not, I have a patent on my name that a plane in space can be defined by indicating three points. Pythagoras knew that already a few thousands year ago, but I patented it.
