I posted these in an NGD thread, but I'll repost them here. My new E20OM-SB, which I've been playing a lot since it arrived two months ago. It's a really nice addition to my collection and surprisingly different (a little darker) sounding than its E40OM twin.

thinking of getting a AC322CE or AC422CE. Anyone have any opinions on either of these?
Also anyone know if the models they sell at Arts & Music are the same exact guitars? For example they have a FE422CE that they sell for $699 which is about $200 less than most places sell the AC422CE for.

Posted a couple weeks ago in the main forum, but here's my latest acquisition -
Eastman E40-OM - in ultra cool sunburst. Adirondack top, Indian Rosewood back and sides, ebony fingerboard and bridge, bone nut and saddle, abalone out the wazoo.

As an Eastman owner, I can tell you, folks, these guitars sound as good as they look. They are doing some scary wonderful things over there at Eastman.

I just added a 10 year old Eastman Mandolin to go along with my Eastman Mahogany Parlor.
I've been a big fan of them for 5-6 years now. Now, on to learning how to play it.

The scary part is that I want just about every guitar Eastman makes. Sure wish I could win the lottery.

Folks, I wanted to share something. There are varying opinions about Eastman guitars. However, this evening I was in a jam with a room full of fifteen players -- lots of Martins, Gibsons, a few Taylors. My Eastman slope dread holds its own against all these brands. For someone who gives them a fair trial and a real test, you will come away very impressed. These are just very fine guitars, no matter the price. scott memmer |

Anyone with an Eastman AC model (grand auditorium) add a strap pin to their guitar or do you just attach your strap to the headstock? Why do acoustics still come without a top strap pin???
Also, how do you like the Fishman Matrix electronics? Is it sufficient for playing out or do you use a preamp/DI box or have you replaced the pickup system entirely? I recently acquired a AC422ce and am still in the evaluation stage, but it has a nice rounded tone. Not as bright as a Taylor, with a little more fullness to the sound. Would love to hear from other Eastman owners.

Just gotta once again add my props for Eastman. I just acquired an OM-40 that is stunningly good. Don't believe the folks who say, "They're good for the money." No. They're just flat-out great guitars.

Eastman makes a tremendous guitar for the money. I have owned several over the past few years; an E10SS, an E20OMTC, a T64/v, an ACOM1, and a MD-315 Mando.
All were built well, sounded and played great, and proved to be roadworthy instruments. I am definitely an Eastman fan!
