Well, so much for Connor Bedard winning the Calder this year. Out for 6-8 weeks with that broken jaw. Visions of McDavid in his rookie year. The two most anticipated draft picks since Crosby and they both lost a good chunk of their rookie season.

Default Crosby Watch!

In last nights game against Vancouver, Sid almost single-handedly brought the Pens back from a first period 3-1 deficit to take the game to OT. He scored a goal in the second period to make the score 3-2, and scored the tying goal with 29 seconds left in regulation. Unfortunately, for Pens fans the Canucks scored in OT to win the game.

With those 2 goals last night Sid passed the great Mike Bossy for 22nd place in all-time NHL goal scoring with 574 goals. If he continues at his present scoring rate (24 goals so far this season) he'll reach 600 for his career by the end of the season. The man is still a superstar at age 36. I am in awe!!

Great recall, Roberts! He was certainly entertaining! I seem to recall his blubbering (I mean I think he was crying on the air) when Barry (Bubba) Beck scored a big goal....he was screaming "You've got to shoot the puck Bubba!!!!"
I also think that led to his final days on air.

Really sucks! He still leads in points for rookies with 9 more than next on the list.

MacKinnon! Currently leads in assists (45), second in points (67), 9th in goals (22) (two behind Crosby).

This may be MacKinnon's year to win the Hart trophy. He's finished in second place twice and third another time. I still think McDavid can win it though.

The Kings were playing so well. They've now lost 8 in a row.
I guess the rest of the league figured them out. Back to the drawing board.

Leafs management is killing me. Spending $$$ in all the wrong places.

As the fan of a team on the outside looking in, I feel like I have to write off this season. Not that I'd know; my local cable provider decided to transfer subscriptions to the local sports channel who covers Penguins games from their $70 a month package to their $90 a month package so I haven't seen a game in weeks, but that's a separate rant.

Hey Neil! Things are not looking good for the Pens, that's for sure. Their embarrassing "own goal" into an empty net orchestrated by Letang and Malkin recently in Arizona is a sort of metaphor for their season: a team capable of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Sorry to hear about your cable issues. Having to pay $90 per month to watch hockey seems exorbitant, or is that the total cable bill per month (with Pens included)? I use DirecTV and pay $70 for their Center Ice package for the entire season.

B's beat Ottawa last night despite every effort from the guys in the stripped shirts to lean the game Ottawa's way.

I know I'll probably get flack for this but honestly the officiating has been a total circus lately. Last night was a whole new low.

Yeah, I saw meme picturing Malkin saying something to the effect of "I AM SCORE" which was clearly illustrating some sort of faux paus. I'm glad I missed that.

$70 for one channel is still way too much. IIRC EPSN+ is $12.99 a month otherwise I'll be catching up on things on the local Fox sports affiliate radio station.

The crying shame of it is that last year my son and I had a great time going to a game. I'd hate to blow a couple hundred $$$ just to see them disappear in the third period. He also liked going to Pirates games as a kid but I'm really challenged to believe that ANY sports team in Pittsburgh is relevant right now.
