Our band plays about once a month at a local tavern, with a bar and tables for people eating dinner, two pool tables and about four giant televisions, all tuned to different things, all with their sound off. It is less a sports bar than a local rural tavern.
The owner promotes us on the nights we play, so there are some people there who have come to hear us, but I find it hard not to be distracted by the women’s wrestling match hanging over the lead guitar players head. But you know, they pay us to play and that’s what we do, even with people playing pool.
