I really like them both, but the Koa with the Coco binding is visually stunning....

I was told the Fall Limiteds would be delivered in October. That second from the left is mine! (I could only wish, but I do have one on order).

Hey, can someone confirm that those are really the fall limited's? I see in those pictures that some have cutaway and some don't. Also, all of them are gloss sides from what I can tell. I thought that all ltd's were always satin backs/sides and all had cutaway. Am I mistaken?

Here's why I think they're the limiteds:
  • Limiteds were announced as cocobolo with koa wedge and binding, and koa w/cocobolo wedge and binding. These meet that description. I think the lack of a cutaway may just have been how the dealer ordered it.
  • It's that time of year... production starts in summer for fall delivery.
  • Cocobolo isn't a normal part of Taylor's product line. You have to custom order it, or have it be part of a limited edition. In other words, you probably wouldn't see several together like this normally.

About the gloss sides: there's no way Taylor's going to make a cocobolo or koa guitar and not put it in gloss! The satin finishes are reserved for the 300/400 series guitars, and to my knowledge there are no 300/400 fall limiteds for 2008. (These I think are 800 series.)

Oh, and for larger versions of the pictures, see here. If anyone really wants, PM me and I can send the originals. Enjoy!

Default Yeah, you're right!

Yeah, your logic makes absolute sense. As for the cutaway/non-cutaway, I just re-read what was posted on the buffalo bros site. They do say with or without cutaway. I wonder how much cheaper non-cutaway will be, and if its in my price range!
