Effects Pedal Directly into a Bose PA?
Hello all! I am new to the Forum and happy to be here! Looking for some advice/direction. I am part of an acoustic duo playing smaller venues. We recently purchased the Bose L1S1 system.
I am primarily using an acoustic through the Bose and it sounds great! I have a few songs that we play at gigs that I would like to use my Stratocaster. When I plug into the Bose with the strat and use the Tone Match to get the strat setting I get a really nice clean tone. I would, however, like to add a little bit of grit/bluesy distortion to the tone. I don't have a tube amp that I could mic at the present time and I am looking for some options. Could I run a pedal directly into the PA or would this be useless? I have read about the Tech 21 Character series pedals that act as a preamp. Would this be the pedal I would want or could I run a Boss Blues Driver directly into the Bose? Any help/guidance that you can provide would be greatly appreciated! |

I play a Strat through our Bose L1 II Tonematch using a Line6 Pocket Pod or a Digitech multi-effects pedal. It works fine. Ric

We were fortunate to have the west coast Bose rep spend time with us before and after the sale. He uses a Line6 Pocket Pod and that's why we bought two. We plug two instruments into channel 4 on the ToneMatch using the Pocket Pods for electric guitars or LR Baggs Para Acoustic DI's/BehringerADI21's for acoustic/electric instruments. It's like gaining an extra channel on the ToneMatch. I clip the Pocket Pod on my belt and am very familiar with it's controls and settings. Ric
