Default Que Bump?

OK, I surrender. I thought I could figure it out in context. But no.

So what does "bump" mean?

Glad I could help.

Whenever one replies to a thread, it bumps it up to the top of the first page..

so if someone feels that a topic is dying and needs to be seen by more people (because most don't go past the first page), they'll often go in and type "bump" to move it to the top and thus keep the thread alive..

"bump!"

"Bump" ~ also a fad dance from the 70s "(Do) The Bump" was a hit song from the Commodores' album Machine Gun
Here is an example of the dance

It's a forum acronym for

Bring Up My Post

i.e. the thread hasn't garnered the responses the author was looking for and/or needs to be brought to attention

Mmmaak,

That's the best explanation I've seen on this subject.

Thanks, Glenn
