I've got an old DY 57 too. Probably the best sounding guitar I've ever played. She could really use a reset, though. I put a JDL bridge doctor on a couple months ago which prought the action down a little...and put the tone through the roof! Great guitars, those yairis...Handmade by Japanese virgins at the foot of the holy mountain.

What is a JDL bridge doctor?

I rescued a DY-63 from a pawn shop a couple of months ago.. Even though it could use more TLC than I can technically provide, she's a great guitar to me...

There's nothing wrong with a Non Yairi Alvarez either. My son has an AJ60sc. It plays great, sounds good unplugged and excellent plugged in. For $500 brand new with a case, it's a nice guitar.

Default JLD bridge doctor

The JLD (not JDL, sorry) bridge doctor is like a sound post the goes in your guitar. I can't really explain it....Check out www.jldguitar.com

Interesting.. Thanks..

Did you install it yourself?? How long have you had it in your guitar??

Do you have the mounting screw design or the vintage pin design system??

Sounds like an inexpensive fix for one of my Yairi's illnesses..

Email me if you like. [email protected]

Default DY92 Lute Back

I own a 1981 that is in mint condition. I bought it from a woman who was selling after her husband died. It doesn't look like he played it at all. I love the guitar, but would be willing to part with it if the price is right.
