Default Just ordered a Farida OT-22 from Elderly.

I got the wide neck one. Elderly has, or at least just had, a 10% discount if you sign up for their emails. So, with free shipping and no tax the total was $341.10!

Thank you to themissal and Looburst for your great video reviews.

Sadly, I must bid adieu to my Seagull MJ. I love the tone, and the neck, and the woods are beautiful, but my shoulder says NO. Guess I'm a 00 guy from here on out.

Hey Lesbark, glad you got one of these! Thank you for the mention as well. Can't wait to hear what you think of it, looks like you might've gotten the best deal so far, as far as price goes on one. I payed $419 back last year, but got the special deal that included a nice Guardian case for it and some other doodads. Course mine is also the thinner or standard 1 11/16 nut width. As an aside, the original LG2s that Gibson first offered in the early 1940s had what would've been closer to the 1 3/4 nut width that you got, frankly. I know this because I own two, one from 1943 and another from 1944. They are slightly heavier than these Faridas are. Those Gibson BIG necks would make up the difference in weight. Width and shape of these Faridas are identical in every other way however.

Enjoy brother! Mine is near me all day at work. What a price you got!

I put a Baggs M1A in mine. And with a cheap gator gig bag, this thing has pleased me many times on gigs. So light, so easy, so playable and comfortable.

And Unplugged, I experiment with strings and love the different tones.

Would you mind sharing your impressions after you receive it? I am looking for a 00 and the wide neck farida checks many of my boxes.

My primary concern is neck shape/profile. Looburst says it has a fairly thin, modern profile. I wonder if the wide version is any different. My hand prefers medium-thick necks.

Thanks and congrats.

Hey Roy, as far as I know, after talking to Elderly, there has been no change in the neck profile or thickness. Still a lower profile "C". Hope this helps

Could any of the Farida OT owners measure the string spacing at the saddle?
I couldn't find the spec on Elderlys site.

I can do this later, but i dont know what the term means. I have just seen it often used on forums. What am I measuring exactly? The width between E strings?

Thanks. Kinda what I expected. Too bad, if it had a fat neck I'd jump on that 10% off bandwagon too.

The measurement should be from the center of the low E string to the center of the high E string.

Exactly, width between the E strings at the saddle. Many are not concerned with this spec but I rarely use a pick and much prefer spacing at the saddle to be at least 2 1/4".
I have sold off a couple very nice sounding guitars solely because the spacing was just too cramped for comfort.

In case anyone was curious about the answer to this question on string spacing at the saddle, I emailed Elderly and asked specifically about the Farida Old Town OT22-VBS Wide Neck model and they answered back with:
"Spacing is 2 and 5/16"

I'm not sure if the same spec is used for the non wide neck but this makes this model very interesting, great specs for fingerpicking.
