EQ Pedal For A/E Guitar Up to $150: MXR M108S or Boss GE-7 or Other?
I've recently moved from passive to active pickups on my main gigging guitars. As a result, I have moved on from the Fire-Eye Red-Eye as a preamp since it works best with passive systems.
When it comes to my current A/E guitars, I'm thinking that some decent EQ is really all I need. So, I am looking for a good, quiet, EQ pedal that works well with acoustic/electrics. Let's put the budget at $150. The MXR 10-band and the Boss GE-7 seem to be very popular among acoustic rigs. A nice thing about both of these is that they also offer a boost slider, which might be nice for use with a passive pickup. So, what EQ pedal do you recommend in this price range for use with an acoustic/electric guitar?

One bump...
I've been researching these two pedals today, and based on reviews, the newer versions of both seem to perform well (and quietly) for acoustic/electrics. Has anyone played through the newer versions of both these pedals? Comments? Other suggestions.

When I've been in that mindset, I've picked up a good rack mount stereo EQ for less than your budget. That way you have two channels, more frequency control and typically XLR out as an option (always my choice when possible)
Something like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bbe-EQA215-H...oAAOSwBpxZkluN Or this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Carvin-EQ201...AAAOSw-EBZpzzX
