So far, I'm just experimenting with it alone. If I want a different blend, I can the use the character knob. Ideally, I'd probably prefer to still be able to mix in the mic, but that makes things complicated.

I am currently using the K&K Dual Channel Pro belt clip Preamp.
This is the set up.

However, I have ordered one of the dual channel internal preamps so I can convert one guitar to an onboard active system. It will in essence be this system.

I want at least one guitar that is a simple plug and play instrument with the controls in the sound hole.

Hey Doug
Was it a Trance proprietary mic (do the make one). Also, did the mod include an on board control/blend or was it external. Perhaps 2 outputs.

Did you do a recording of this set up, and is it up on your site?

Hi Doug,

So far my personal experiments on the EPSI showed me that going though the Analog-to-digital (ADC) then through Digital-to-analog conversions (DAC) affect the tone. I think I lose some high-end and some dynamic.

The IR produced by algorithm like Tonedexter (or mine) are the sum of a dry unaffected signal and the "reverberation-resonances" of the guitar top and body.

What I've done recently is remove the "unaffected" part of the signal from the digital process and include an all-analog "dry" path compensate... I think it is an improvement. It "opens" even more the tone. The guitar is definitely "livelier".

Of course I don't know if Tonedexter ADC/DAC quality is superior to EPSI but in my case it makes a real difference.

Cuki

PS: It's bring back some qualities of the Trance Amulet that were lost by the IR process.

I just replaced the jack with a TRS version and added an input jack that lets me pass thru a passive signal, no blending. Then I use an external blender. The 2nd channel doesn't have to be a mic, it could be a mag, or any passive source. I have not added this setup to my samples. I should so that, and I have making a video demo of my stereo setup on my todo list.

So you apply the phantom power on the ring of the TRS jack?

Right. Felix, Raven Labs, Solstice, etc, preamps all just take care of that.
