It must feel good to have witnessed your son take such positive steps toward such a noble career. It must also be difficult knowing that he will be sometimes in harms way. I feel for any parent with sons and daughters in law enforcement, fire fighting and the military. May your son have a long, distinguished career.

Police Academy ! Wow !

Based on everything I know about them, he should have a bunch of laughs there ! (I've seen a couple of the films)

Thanks 3m! I can't disclose that. He's not permitted to say where on social media. That's why the emblem on his shoulder is edited out.

Your son has certainly taken on a stressful line of work, that only seems to predict more difficulty in the future. Getting through such an academy is a major life changing experience, with fierce competition, for a well salaried job. BTDT, & wish I'd have done it a lot younger... I was 40 at the time! UGH!

If one can deal with the danger & drama of crime fighting, it's a nice living, but it exacts a real price in return. I suspect nursing & firefighting are the same? A life of crisis takes it toll on anyone......

Being any kind of an LEO is the gateway into a well justified negative POV... I don't see any way it can be avoided?

I wish your boy, & you, a victory in this endeavor. I do hope that if he decides later on, that fighting the war on jaywalkers, etc, is a failing campaign, and that shoe clerking is his true calling in life, you'll be just as supportive? Best wishes!

Don

Congrats! You are justifiably proud of your son's accomplishments. Best of luck to him and stay safe.
