I have a pair of the ADK A6's and like them alot. You might be able to find them for $150 each on Ebay, not sure.

Another option might be the Audio Technica 2020. Can be had for $99 each, and from samples I have heard not a bad mic for the price. You could get of them and record in stereo.

I like to use a sterling ST51 with a samsom C02. I will put the ST51 about 10 inches from the bridge and the C02 about 6 inches from the neck joint. The samson catches alot of the crisp detail and the ST51 gets the airy nature of the guitar. When mixed together it really captures all of the tone and personality of the guitar.

Oktava MK-012. I'm sure you can find one for $250.

It's my go-to mic for acoustic guitar.

And if that fails, the CAD M179 is lovely on acoustic also. And it's $150. I love mine, even if I had to shell out a lot more for it because I'm not in the USA.

I use a Shure PG81 to record between the top of the sound hole and the 12th fret and a Shure SM58 on the back side of the body to capture the lower end.

Would I be out of line to recommend the BLUE Kiwi? Probably, huh? I thought so. Oh well, it really is an incredible all-around mic!

I've had good luck with my MXL 770 - it's certainly well within your price range. The 990 is great too.

I have been known to visit that forum, maybe too much.
