Default Preamp solutions

I am looking for suggestions - i want a preamp to adjust my martin. It has an f1 analog which is fine but i would like a bit morecontrolbefore going into the board. My second desire is that i would like the preamp to alos have spdif outs so that i can use it directly with my sony pcm recorder.

I haven't heard of guitar preamps with digital outs for recording though there are plenty of USB mics out there. Your best bet is to focus on the right tools for the job, ie a good preamp to give you the control you need plus a simple but effective interface that will do the AD/DA side of things for you.

Any decent guitar preamp will have an xlr output which then connects directly to an interface mic input (in my case a Focusrite Pro40) which then connects via toslink (optical) or coaxial to either a computer or your PCM recorder.
